JG Summit turns fragmented SAP support into a platform for growth

A Diversified Philippine Conglomerate Running on SAP

JG Summit Holdings, Inc. (JGS), the Gokongwei Group’s flagship conglomerate, is one of the largest and more diversified conglomerates in the Philippines.  It has substantial business interests in food manufacturing and agro-industrial and commodities (Universal Robina Corp.); real estate and hotel (Robinsons Land Corp.); air transportation (Cebu Pacific Air); and digital banking (GoTyme Bank). The Company also has core investments in telecommunications (PLDT), power generation and distribution (Meralco), banking (Bank of the Philippine Islands), and real estate (Singapore Land Group Limited).

Across its strategic business units, SAP is the enterprise backbone for finance, supply chain, and operations — so stability is essential to daily business. To raise the bar on support, JG Summit set out to replace a patchwork of independent approaches with one consistent standard of quality and governance, delivering uninterrupted operations, faster issue resolution, and a dependable foundation for growth. To get there, it turned to a trusted, long-standing partner: DXC Technology.

Stability, zero SLA misses, and a 100% expanded footprint

The impact has been measurable and sustained:

  • Satisfaction scores consistently above 4.5 out of 5, with zero SLA misses and no penalties
  • Just one high-priority (P1) incident per year, the result of proactive issue handling
  • Monthly ticket volumes averaging 300 against a 400 cap
  • Footprint doubled from six business units to eight — adding Maxicare and Robinsons Land Corporation
  • Zero business disruption, even during the demanding December year-end close

A harmonized, automation-driven AMS framework

DXC consolidated Application Managed Services (AMS) for JG Summit’s SAP landscape into a single, standardized delivery and governance framework, layering in intelligent automation — auto-alerts that flag new tickets instantly and robotic process automation (RPA) for BW process chains and CMC push reports.

Structured workflows turned recurring, non-ticketed work into measurable activity, while detailed documentation for repeat fixes reduced reliance on individual knowledge. When JG Summit expanded the scope from L3 to L2 support, the handover was seamless, and DXC provisioned clone landscapes during upgrades to safeguard urgent and statutory changes.

Scaling transformation through 2026 and beyond

The partnership continues to deepen. DXC’s takeover of Universal Robina’s Level 2 AMS in Q3 2024 freed URC’s IT team for strategic work, and an S/4HANA upgrade and data archiving are already underway.

Looking to 2026, the two are exploring a three-to-five-year AMS renewal, ServiceNow support, SAP configuration for the URC Vietnam plant merger, and an SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) implementation — extending a relationship built on trust, stability, and continuous transformation.
