Cement-Building Materials Business of SCG Selects DXC Technology for Move to Cloud to Modernize Mission-Critical IT and Integrate Digital Solutions

Cloud-based solution with enhanced SAP S/4HANA to streamline and enhance operations

Bangkok, Thailand, 29 September 2021 - DXC Technology (NYSE: DXC) today announced the successful upgrade and migration to a cloud-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution for Cement-Building Materials Business of Siam Cement Group (SCG). Under terms of the agreement, DXC will build on the Google Cloud’s platform to support Cement-Building Materials Business of SCG on their SAP S/4HANA cloud transformation journey over the next five years.

SCG (Siam Cement Group) a leading business conglomerate in ASEAN, is the largest and oldest cement and building material company in Thailand and Southeast Asia. Cement-Building Materials Business, which is one of three core business units of SCG, is focused on cement and concrete product manufacturing and distribution. The company and DXC Technology have worked together for more than ten years on infrastructure/ outsourcing managed services, private cloud managed services and security including application implementation and support.

Operating its business on multiple instances of SAP ERP applications, Cement-Building Materials Business of SCG needed sharper enterprise-wide visibility across its business functions. With a focused approach defined by DXC, the shift from on-premises infrastructure to Google Cloud’s platform delivered:

• Faster deployment to the cloud with minimal disruption to the user community of Cement-Building Materials Business of SCG;
• The ability to scale its ERP systems up and down to meet changes in customer demands and data volumes; and
• Consolidate SAP instances, by migrating SAP workloads to Google Cloud (with Platform as a Service), accessible across the Cement-Building Materials Business of SCG network, spread across 33 companies in 14 countries.

Since implementation, the new cloud-based solution has put in place efficiencies that has enabled 1000 Cement-Building Materials Business employees to use the integrated solution across finance, sales, supply chain, sourcing and procurement, manufacturing, and production planning.

Phase Two of the partnership will see on-boarding of SAP 4.7 entities onto a harmonized SAP S/4HANA platform to take advantage of new high-speed system and innovation, as part of the project roadmap.
