DXC Marks Five Years of Opening Tech Careers to Neurodivergent Talent

  • DXC's Dandelion program supports neurodivergent individuals into long-term technology careers
  • It also addresses persistent skills shortages and growing impact of AI in the workplace
  • Recruitment for the new cohort has just opened

London, UK, June 29, 2026 – DXC Technology (NYSE: DXC), a leading enterprise technology and innovation partner, today marks the fifth anniversary of its UK-based Dandelion program, a flagship initiative designed to support neurodivergent individuals, including people with autism, ADHD, dyslexia and other cognitive differences, into long-term careers in technology.

Since its launch in 2021, the two-year program has supported more than 30 participants in the UK, achieving a 100% completion rate and 95.8% retention 2 years post program. Graduates have progressed into roles across cybersecurity, software development, testing, and digital operations, contributing to DXC’s broader effort to expand access to technology careers and address persistent skills shortages.

As we mark five years of the DXC Dandelion program, we are proud of the opportunities it has created for neurodivergent talent to build meaningful and lasting careers in technology. This program reflects DXC’s social values in action – expanding access to opportunity, removing barriers to employment, and building a more inclusive technology sector. By focusing on potential and providing the right support, we are not only strengthening our talent pipeline, but also delivering real, measurable social impact value in the communities we serve.

The DXC Dandelion program is also evolving to reflect the growing impact of AI in the workplace. Participants develop practical skills in evaluating AI outputs, ensuring quality and accuracy, and applying structured critical thinking in increasingly automated environments.

Despite growing awareness of neurodiversity in the workplace, employment gaps remain significant. In the UK, only 34% of autistic adults are in employment, while 77% of unemployed autistic people say they want to work. The DXC Dandelion program aims to address this gap through specialist recruitment, tailored onboarding, and a long-term support model, with participants receiving ongoing guidance from NeuroInclusion Consultants (NIC) beyond recruitment and onboarding, extending through workplace integration and career development to ensure support evolves alongside changing workplace needs.

The strength of the program lies in its continuity of support. By working closely with participants and their teams throughout the journey, we are able to build confidence, remove barriers in real time, and help individuals develop sustainable careers in technology. What makes the Dandelion Program unique is its focus not only on recruitment, but on creating the conditions for long-term success.

Recruitment for the next cohort has just opened. The next cohort of 12 participants will be onboarded in October and gain access to structured training, real-world workplace experience, and supported career pathways across multiple technology disciplines, including software testing and application development.

As part of DXC UK’s broader social value agenda, DXC Dandelion supports the company's commitments across skills development, employability, diversity, and community engagement. The program is focused on expanding access to opportunities in technology while contributing to a more equitable workplace. This commitment was recently recognized through DXC’s inclusion in The Times Top 50 Employers for Gender Equality 2026, highlighting the organization’s ongoing efforts to advance equity across its workforce and the communities it serves.

Following its launch in the UK, the program’s first European market, it has expanded into multiple countries across the region, including Poland, Bulgaria, and Italy, reinforcing DXC’s position as a leader in neurodiversity hiring in Europe.
