DXC teams up with the Shell V-Power Racing Team and Charles Darwin University to deliver STEM Program and 100 laptops to Northern Territory high schools
DXC Technology, in partnership with the Shell V-Power Racing Team and Charles Darwin University’s Radicle Centre, has delivered a STEM Pathways Program for Northern Territory students that combines hands-on learning, real-world engineering and technology insights, and the donation of around 100 laptops to five local high schools.
High school students took part in a series of STEM workshops focused on physics, engineering design, and iterative problem-solving.
The program culminated in a Showcase Event at Sanderson High School, bringing together student learning, industry exposure, practical application, and recognition.
At the showcase, Shell V-Power Racing Team’s engineers, drivers, and leaders participated in an industry panel discussion, giving students insights into how STEM is applied in high-performance racing environments. Student teams also competed in a Fast Car Finale, racing the cars they designed and built with Lego, while applying the engineering, testing, and innovation concepts developed through the workshops. The event recognised top-performing teams and participants, reinforcing the value of teamwork, experimentation, and applied learning.
The program also included the handover of the refurbished devices to the participating schools, which were: Dripstone Secondary College, Driver Secondary School, Roseberry Secondary School, Nightcliff High School, Roseberry Secondary School. The devices were donated by Shell V-Power Racing Team partners – Viva Energy Australia, GPC Asia Pacific, Penske, and Rheem – and managed and delivered through DXC’s Digital Futures Program, and with data sanitisation and logistics from LiteHaus International. The laptops will support classroom and remote learning and have the potential to improve learning outcomes for more than 1,000 students.
This program also aligns with DXC’s broader investment in Northern Territory education pathways, including DXC’s agreement with Charles Darwin University for provision of resources to support scholarships for TAFE and university students, paid student mentoring, and short-term work placement opportunities for scholarship recipients, as part of students’ studies.
