TYSONS, Va., July 17, 2019 — DXC Technology (NYSE: DXC), the world’s leading independent, end-to-end IT services company, today announced that it has received the top score of 100 on the Disability Equality Index® (DEI®), a joint initiative of Disability:IN and the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD). As a top-scoring company, DXC is also being recognized as one of the “2019 DEI Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion.”
Developed by a diverse group of business leaders, policy experts and disability advocates, the DEI is a comprehensive assessment tool designed to promote and advance disability inclusion practices and policies in the workplace. Receiving a top score on the DEI demonstrates business leadership in including people with disabilities across the enterprise through disability inclusion policies and practices.
“DXC Technology is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace and culture, and we are honored to be named a DEI Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion,” said Jo Mason, DXC executive vice president and chief human resources officer. “Exceptional and diverse talent within our organization is what makes DXC a unique, dynamic workplace. Our strength lies in valuing differences, encouraging input from all perspectives and uniting teams around common goals.”
The DEI helps businesses measure their progress on disability inclusion and identify opportunities for continued improvement. This year, 180 businesses participated in the DEI, which is 35 more than the total in 2018. The 2019 DEI measured the following inclusion criteria:
DXC encourages diversity and inclusion initiatives as part of the company’s overall corporate responsibility efforts. Programs supporting people with various abilities at work and in our communities include Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). ERGs are regional and global forums where employees can advance best practices, share ideas, form professional and mentoring relationships, and achieve business goals. Additionally, the DXC Dandelion Program is an initiative to build valuable IT skills and careers for people on the autism spectrum.
The company’s strategy for attracting and retaining talent is implemented through community outreach, networking and employment opportunities via partnerships with other industry leaders, civilian organizations, government agencies and nonprofit organizations with the same mission.
