DXC understands the impact we can have on our customers’ environmental footprint. That’s why our environmental management plan aims to reduce not only DXC’s operational impact, but also our customers’ supply chain impact.
DXC supports PARIS CALL for trust and security in cyberspace. Enterprise-wide security is foundational to managing critical systems and protecting data across traditional IT, public cloud and hybrid environments. Secure infrastructure enables organizations to rapidly roll out innovative products and services and improve the customer experience in the face of increasing cyber threats. We are an official sponsor of the PARIS CALL and the 9 principles initiated by the UN-Peace Forum in 2018 to unite all organizations, suppliers and partners in adopting responsible behavior and implementing fundamental security principles in both cyberspace and the physical world.
Our customers turn to DXC for expert help in meeting their most important corporate responsibility goals and targets. Here are a few recent examples:
BAE Systems – Donating laptops to help children learn
BAE Systems, in partnership with DXC, donated hundreds of laptops to school councils across the UK to help support children with their learning, either at home or in school. The company worked with DXC to identify and rebuild laptops, part of DXC’s wider initiative of laptop donations to schools.
DreamWorks Animation – Responding rapidly to COVID-19
At the beginning of the global pandemic lockdown, this Hollywood animation studio — best known for “Shrek,” “Kung Fu Panda,” “How to Train Your Dragon” and other blockbusters — needed increased agility so its staff could work from home. Working with DXC, DreamWorks designed, built and implemented a virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environment. Now DreamWorks can resume production, with its artists, technicians and other staff working safely (and compliantly) from home.
Bayernwerk AG – Shrinking the carbon footprint
The utility, which provides electricity, gas and water across southern Germany, has set high-priority targets around sustainability and environmental protection. To help meet these goals, the utility and DXC created an Energy Portal. This digital platform makes data more easily accessible to administrators of the municipalities Bayernwerk serves. It also provides a single source for advanced analytics, which the utility’s customers can use to shrink their carbon footprint and meet their green energy goals.
City of Brussels Taxation – Fighting air pollution
Belgium’s capital city is cleaning its air with a Low Emission Zone (LEZ) in which high-polluting vehicles are prohibited. DXC helps Brussels to enforce the rule with 200 strategically placed cameras equipped with image-recognition software. This software, by connecting to a database of some 430,000 vehicles, recognizes any high-polluting vehicle that enters the LEZ. The system then sends this information to city tax officials, who decide whether the driver merits a fine of up to €350.
