DXC Dandelion Program Expands in Italy to Empower Neurodivergent Individuals

Initiative will encourage neurodivergent individuals to build skills to pursue a career in technology

ROME, ITALY, July 17, 2024 — DXC Technology (NYSE: DXC), a leading Fortune 500 global technology services provider, has today expanded its DXC Dandelion Program, which helps neurodivergent individuals build valuable skills to pursue a career in IT, into Italy.

DXC’s Dandelion Program, which was first established in 2014 in Australia to help neurodivergent people, such as those with autism, ADHD or dyslexia, has a 92% employment retention rate. Teams that include program participants also experience a 30-40% increase in overall productivity.

Following the success of the program in Australia, which recently celebrated its 10th anniversary, Italy will become the latest location to launch the DXC Dandelion Program. Over the years, it has grown across Europe and Asia Pacific, including the United Kingdom, Bulgaria, Poland, and the Philippines, with plans to start the program in the Middle East and the United States.

With no prior professional experience required to participate, DXC has made the program available to individuals of all abilities with the motivation to work in technology. In addition to offering employment, DXC provides participants with technical and vocational training plus professional support by specialised consultants.

To date, the program has created IT employment pathways and careers for more than 350 neurodivergent people across 7 countries.

“Neurodivergent individuals bring a lot of value to the workplace, with strengths such as great attention to detail, focused concentration, pattern recognition, spotting anomalies in data and out-of-the box thinking. These are valuable skills, especially in areas of technology such as data analytics, software automation, and cybersecurity,” said Eugenio Maria Bonomi, Managing Director for DXC Technology Beneluce and Italy. “I’m excited to see the DXC Dandelion Program launch in Italy. We’re committed to creating a more inclusive work environment and empowering everyone to achieve their potential”.

Globally, the program has won 22 international awards for its contribution to the development of socially beneficial initiatives. DXC has also been recognized in the Top-Scoring Companies list by the Global Disability Equality Index, achieving a score of 100% for the company’s disability and inclusion achievements in the last six years.

Applications are now open for Software Application Development roles in Rome in the DXC Dandelion Program, through our global partner Untapped Talent. No prior experience is required, as all relevant technical training is provided. Visit here to enquire or apply today.
