Scanning is done at distributed thin clients
Paper powered human culture for millennia. But in the digital era it’s a stumbling block. Digitizing paper fast, reliable and cost-effective becomes a decisive challenge.
For this, DXC WebScan is the tool of choice. This web-based scanning solution supports your experts in scanning, validating and tagging your documents.
Its modern architecture scales to your needs and gives you lots of flexibility.
Paper isn’t just “still around”; it tends to get around a lot, too. Sending it back and forth until it reaches the right person is a major part of the day-to-day work. DXC WebScan can avoid costly transportation by letting you deploy scanners wherever they are most effective. Simply move them to remote scanning sites or group scan clients into hubs for higher workloads.
With DXC WebScan your experts, who are familiar with the documents and their context, can verify the result and confirm or enrich automatically extracted metadata.
To ensure the scanning environment remains consistent throughout the enterprise, scan stations of your DXC WebScan installation are managed centrally and can be rolled out instantly.
To scan a paper is just the first step. In order to unerringly process paper into digital documents, a consistent digitalization process is needed.
DXC WebScan guides you through custom workflows prescribed with just the right steps and the right tools for any document type. Adding OCR or automated data extraction can be done with a few clicks. Both software for digital signatures and seals as well as your specific target systems can be incorporated into one user-centric workflow.
For each user this workflow can be different, distinguished by the users role.

Due to its modular architecture, DXC WebScan can be seamlessly connected to multiple enterprise document management systems and supports a wide variety of scanners. It does not depend on any specific hardware or software components and its server backend can be clustered to facilitate both higher processing and high-availability requirements.
Roles, document types, and workflows are the core vocabulary of DXC WebScan. Administrating them is as easy as processing documents: a clean, modern web interface allows for adding, removing and configuring of workflow steps with just a click. Managing roles and document types and their associations is equally convenient.
Some information can be sensitive. DXC WebScan treats all information as such. Image data on the client is encrypted and secured during transmission to the server. As soon as the data is no longer needed or a user logs of the system the data gets wiped from the client. Any subsequent processing takes place on the server.
DXC WebScan is even ready to be evaluated against regulatory requirements (e.g. TR-RESISCAN) by making all tasks and changes done to a document traceable and auditable, including postprocessing of image data.
The number of ways in which DXC WebScan can adapt are manifold and constantly growing.
The DXC WebScan Team has unrivalled expertise in understanding an organisation’s processes and requirements as well as the tailoring of DXC WebScan to these specific needs.
With a standardized approach and templates the DXC WebScan Team can help you along your specific journey. From rollouts of any size until maintaining the installation in production.
