Accelerating DXC’s enterprise data vision with Databricks

For years, DXC’s history of mergers resulted in multiple isolated data repositories, or “data ponds". This fragmentation led to the creation of thousands of personal and departmental dashboards—each presenting its own version of the truth.  As a result, over 5,000 dashboards reflected different perspectives, causing inconsistent reporting and making it challenging to identify trusted, unified insights.  A small fraction of 80 dashboards were considered reliable, while the rest contributed to confusion, delayed analytics, and made advanced capabilities like AI difficult to achieve.

DXC set out on a journey to become an AI-driven enterprise by adopting the very same strategies and solutions we recommend to our clients. Our transformation began with a clear objective: to unify our data, eliminate information silos, and establish a single source of truth. This foundation enabled us to deliver real-time insights and embrace predictive analytics, paving the way for scalable, AI-powered capabilities throughout the organization. By simplifying our systems and streamlining processes, we not only reduced operational costs but also empowered our teams with trusted, actionable information. This end-to-end modernization journey reflects our commitment to innovation and positions DXC as a leader in leveraging AI to drive meaningful business outcomes—demonstrating firsthand the value of the solutions we bring to our customers.


Building a solid foundation with Databricks

Databricks was positioned as a Unified Data Platform within DXC to facilitate internal data collaboration. By leveraging the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform, DXC successfully migrated enterprise data from disparate sources—including Azure Synapse, SQL Server, and others—into a single, secure cloud-based lakehouse. This consolidation enabled continuous data ingestion, allowing for near real-time analytics and providing teams with timely, trusted, and actionable insights. The Unified Data platform ensures that information flows seamlessly across departments, eliminating data silos and enabling effective collaboration among employees.

Databricks also made AI and predictive analytics accessible at scale. Genie, a conversational AI assistant, allows employees to query data in natural language. Three AI agents are already in production, supporting staffing optimization and unstructured document analysis, with eight more in pilot across HR, finance and delivery workflows.


Simpler, faster and smarter – with fewer tools

With all the data now located in one secure home in the cloud, information flows continuously instead of sitting in silos, so teams can see what’s happening in near real time and make faster, smarter decisions. Databricks provides DXC supporting functions a scalable, flexible and fast environment enabling DXC employees to safely collaborate on data.

With Databricks, DXC also opened the door to AI at scale. DXC uses data to support the necessary competency update in HR profiles, with AI identifying past assignments and recommending skill updates. These AI agents are already helping to optimize staffing and analyze complex documents, enabling our employees to work more efficiently and boost productivity by automating routine tasks and surfacing actionable insights faster than ever before. For employees who may not have a technical background, Databricks Genie—a conversational AI assistant—makes it easy for anyone to explore and interact with data using natural language queries. This empowers every team member to access the information they need, make data-driven decisions, and contribute to our organization’s success. We’re turning data into action, not just reports, making DXC smarter and more agile across every department.
