“DXC Technology is making targeted investments to strengthen its complex workload transformation capabilities and improve the expertise of its talent base. Their Azure-specific Business Unit (BU) enables joint GTM initiatives and joint solution development by leveraging next-generation technologies such as AI/ML and IoT. Enterprises can benefit from the managed services offerings portfolio. These factors have contributed to its positioning as a Leader on Everest Group’s System Integration (SI) Capabilities on Microsoft Azure PEAK Matrix® Assessment 2022"

Mukesh Ranjan, Vice President, Everest Group

Everest Group’s PEAK Matrix® for Microsoft Azure System Integrator 2022 notes that enterprises are accelerating their adoption of the public cloud. They are looking for robust system integration capabilities across the entire lifecycle of the cloud journey for the individual hyperscaler portfolio segments.

“Microsoft Azure is leveraging its existing significant and industry-focused go-to-market strategy to rapidly close the gap with AWS, as the leading public cloud partner,” says Mukesh Ranjan, vice president, Everest Group. “System Integrators (SIs) are investing in an Azure-powered portfolio of assets and IP with an increased focus on strengthening the partnership level through accreditation and co-innovation initiatives. Enterprises expect strong system integration capabilities, as they look to attain maximum value from cloud adoption.”

DXC’s Azure leadership continues

This is the second consecutive year that DXC Technology has been recognized as a leader in system integration capabilities on Microsoft Azure. DXC is a Microsoft Gold Partner and Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider with the largest footprint for Azure, with advanced specializations in SAP on Azure for workload optimization; Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) to provide and secure virtualized desktops and applications in the cloud; and Windows server and SQL server migration to Azure.

As a Leader DXC demonstrates significant capability overall across categories including vision and strategy; innovation and investments; and delivery footprint. Everest pointed out multiple strengths, including high reliability on DXC’s capabilities around mainframe modernization and SAP transformation on Azure, and the ability to benefit from its market presence and delivery footprint via its Global Innovation and Delivery Centers (GIDC) and regional delivery centers.

The firm also notes that customers working with DXC as a Managed Services Partner (MSP) have access to Azure-specific solutions such as heartbeat functionality that provides resourcing assessment and alerts, and customizable monitoring.

Azure portfolio high points

DXC provides comprehensive services for Microsoft Azure Cloud across design, deployment, delivery, security and daily operational support. Key highlights of DXC’s Azure portfolio cited by Everest Group include:

  • Integration across the Microsoft ecosystem (workplace, analytics and security)
  • The ability to migrate, modernize and integrate mission-critical applications at a global scale
  • Strong governance and compliance practices in the cloud
  • Automation at scale with a DevOps focus
  • Use of Azure-native technologies and managed services

Modern applications development for Azure is supported by accelerators to deliver outcomes through data-driven assessments, rapid development of cloud-enabled and cloud-native applications, and APIs/microservices. Lean Agile and DevOps principles are incorporated into DXC’s end-to-end software engineering methods and tooling.

Everest Group also noted that auto manufacturers can benefit from DXC’s investment in IoT and AI/ML-based and Azure-powered solutions such as DXC Robotic Drive.

Next Azure steps

Everest pointed to a number of investments and activities that DXC has underway to further enhance its leadership in the Azure SI space. For example, DXC has invested in event-driven automation that discovers and applies managed services at an enterprise scale and empowers customers to consume Azure services that are automatically onboarded and monitored.

DXC's focus will be on enhancing security services, too, with investments in Azure-native security solutions such as Azure Sentinel, Defender, Purview and Azure Information Protection. In FY23 DXC also will increase its Azure talent pool to 20,000 certifications.
